How to Prepare for Rajasthan Judicial Service Main Examination | Rajasthan High Court | High Court of Rajasthan | Main Examination | RJS Exam |

How to Prepare for Rajasthan Judicial Service Main Examination?
Rajasthan Judicial Service Exam popularly known as RJS Exam was famous for its huge syllabus. But in 2018 Rajasthan High Court amended the syllabus and provided much-required relief to the aspirants of Rajasthan Judicial Service. The new syllabus notified by the Rajasthan High Court consists only of 14 bare acts in the Law section. It is believed that the Rajasthan Judicial Service Exam is one of the toughest exams to crack, but it is not so. A proper approach with a little bit of guidance in the right direction along with smart study is sufficient to crack the RJS Exam.

Since the answer key for Prelims Exam has already been notified on the official website of Rajasthan High Court, there is a lot of tension and excitement among the students and aspirants of Rajasthan Judicial Service Exam to know about the cut off and how to prepare for the main examination.

Here are some tips which can be helpful for students to move in the right direction while preparing for the Main Examination.

Time Management
Managing your time properly will not only give to an edge over others but also lift your confidence in yourself. There are only 24 hours in a day and you have to manage your time properly. Making an appropriate schedule for the day and fixing the time limit for each subject is a must. One should not wait for the declaration of results for prelims to start preparing for the main examination. Knowledge never goes in vain, so start preparing for mains exam from today itself.

Coaching or Self Study
Students are confused about this whether they should go for coaching or prepare for the exam themselves through self-study. Owners/teachers of coaching centers often wash the mind of the students by making false promises and claims just to get maximum students in their coaching institute. Coaching is of no help unless there are good teachers coupled with the latest material and legal updates. But coaching without self-study is useless and now a day’s coaching institutes have become a center for minting money where false promises and assurances are given. Just explore all the options, ask for demo classes, and get reviews about the coaching from the students who didn’t qualify. Never ask for reviews about the coaching from those students who have qualified the exam. If you are still confused about coaching or self-study, it will take a little extra effort but choose self-study.

Studying hard or hardly studying?
After managing the time, preparing a time table and making schedule next comes the level of effort you are putting into your studies. It is not necessary that you should devote about 3-4 hours continuously to any subject. Every says STUDY HARD, but we suggest STUDY SMART. Identify the core areas from which we often find some questions in the main examination and work on those areas first, instead of studying those areas which were never asked or rarely asked in the examinations.

Bare Acts or books?
Bare Acts are not provided in the Main Examination of Rajasthan Judicial Service. Earlier the Rajasthan Judicial Service Main Examination use to be bare act based but in 2017 there is some change in the pattern of questions which were asked in the main examination as compared to the earlier pattern. In 2017 main examinations applied practical questions were there along with some direct bare acts based questions. So you need to get a command over the bare acts as well as in-depth study from books and practical knowledge.

Previous year’s papers
Before taking any mains exam one should always solve the previous year papers. As mentioned above the pattern of RJS Main Exam was changed in 2017. So one should not only stick to previous year papers of Rajasthan but also the question paper of main examinations of other states too. This will surely help you to improve your writing skills and approach. But never assume the answer to be correct and complete which is given in solved papers. There is always a scope of improvement and use your own knowledge and skills to make additions in the given answer.

Handwriting also plays a major role in scoring marks. Copies are always checked in hurry and sometimes Rajasthan High Court declares the Main Exam result within 15 days of the examination. So if you have bad handwriting you will lose your marks no matter how good your content is.

Language Paper
One should take language paper very seriously as it seems easy but it is not so. Only the essay forms the part of main exam syllabus in Rajasthan. The essays are divided into 3 parts i.e one legal essay, one social problem and one local Rajasthan essay (these are not official but based on previous years questions). Everyone will give their 100% in law but when it comes to the language we use to lack somehow. Thus preparing language properly will take you ahead of others.

Judgment writing
There are 2-3 questions of drafting in Law paper. Writing Judgment, drafting plaint or written statement, framing charge, petition for maintenance are some of the questions which are asked in the drafting portion. We will try to provide a separate article on this soon.

Stay positive
Manage your time
Identify core areas first
Work on your handwriting
Improve your drafting skills
Language portion is a must
Solve previous  year's paper of other states
